Joey’s road to becoming a teacher of presence life coach and a facilitator of mindfulness-based programs began with his own self-care journey, when he nearly died from a condition called Crohn’s disease in 1998.

Since then, he has been practicing mindfulness, meditation, and is a long-time student on the subjects of self-care, neuroplasticity, trauma, psychology, spirituality, goals, and relationships.



He holds a Becoming a Teacher of Presence certificate from Eckhart Tolle’s School of Awakening, and has completed the Healing at the Edge: Conscious Living, Conscious Dying program facilitated by RamDev Dale Borglum of the Living/Dying Project.

Joey has also studied Celtic Shamanism in Ireland with the Society of Shamanic Practices (SSP), Native American spirituality, Buddhism, and the teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, Ram Dass and Alan Watts.
